Ate It & Rate It | FEB 22
Marvellously marbled BBQ meats, charcoal grilled satay, our favourite late night Korean dessert cafe and our favourite modern Japanese restaurant in Perth.
Ate It & Rate It is our curated guide of monthly favourites - enough for you discover and try a handful of new eateries every month.
This month's edition of Ate It & Rate It marks our 5th issue 🎉. It's also the issue we're most proud of so far. The format going forward will be slightly different as we've written standalone articles for each of our picks.
*Especially the Cafe Guilty Pleasure and Kukan Izakaya articles, as they're the longest articles we've written to date!
Without further ado, in this month's edition we have:
Clover Butcher
De Honey Satay
Cafe Guilty Pleasure
Kukan Izakaya
Happy reading and eating! 🥰
Clover Butcher (Willetton & Queens Park)
Marvellously marbled meats
Your one-stop-shop for marvellously marbled wagyu, high quality meats and a range of Asian groceries for your next BBQ (we like going here for KBBQ or JBBQ supplies). You can enjoy KBBQ / JBBQ in the comfort of your home for a fraction of the price!
De Honey Satay (Floreat & Gosnells)
Charcoal grilled Malaysian satay
A specialty stall serving up charcoal grilled, honey marinated Malaysian satay that's available both north and south of the river. Owners John and Sim also own bee-houses, which explain for the honey marinated satay and their delicious, home-made, non-alcoholic honey spritzer drink.
Cafe Guilty Pleasure (Northbridge & Mt. Lawley)
Late night Korean dessert cafe
Cafe Guilty Pleasure is our favourite Korean dessert cafe in Perth. Both stores have the same expansive menu and cute interior. If you're looking for a post dinner dessert place - or somewhere to hang out with friends until 10 or 11 pm (Friday and Saturday), this is it.
Kukan Izakaya (Northbridge)
Our favourite modern Japanese restaurant in Perth
A hidden gem which is our favourite modern Japanese restaurant in Perth. One of their dishes was made our top 8 dishes in 2019 and remains a favourite to this day. It's owned and operated by an ex-Nobu chef, so if you like Nobu, you'll love this.
