ANY Dining
Nextdoor 79
Big Don's Smoked Meats
Happy reading and eating! 🥰
Praline by Maison Saint Honore
The French patron saint for bakers and pastry chefs
Delicious crepes, pastries and even cooking classes for children - all under a single roof. They've also got outlets in Swan Valley, Floreat and Ellenbrook, though note the menu differs slightly between each outlet. Our favourite is the complete crepe breakfast (which was more filling than expected)!
Mellow Coffee
Asian inspired brunch
A Korean and Asian influenced brunch cafe serving up the typical brunch favourites and more. If you're bored of standard brunch affair, this is a place to go. Be sure to get their buldak wings or kimchi quesadillas!
La Madonna Nera
An Italian focus
An Italian wine bar (that you probably have unknowingly walked past) with a seasonally changing food menu and a wine menu focussing on Italian producers. Be sure to book ahead for this one, as it can be hard to get a booking!
Uncle Eddie
A late night, Malaysian pop-up
On Monday - Wednesday nights, Eddie finishes his 9-5 then begins cooking at his pop-up "Uncle Eddie" inside of Anything Lah in Vic Park. Be sure to grab his mee goreng with extra duck egg then wash it down with a tek tarik.
Note: Uncle Eddie is only open on Monday - Wednesday nights.
Komatsu
Slurp as loud as you can
Komatsu is the sister store of Dosukoi Ramen, one of the ramen OGs in Perth who have been stationed in the Freo Markets for some time. They've since opened a branch up in the new Freo FOMO dining. This means, no more waiting for a seat! Grab their delightfully smoky and charred shoyu (soy) ramen and slurp away*.
*Slurping is not rude in Japanese culture. Paige and I were shocked to hear how loud some of our Japanese friends slurp, so we make it a competition when we eat ramen or udon to see who can slurp the loudest 😂.
ANY Dining
Simple yet sophisticated
A perfect date night restaurant hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a number of Asian influenced dishes, done properly. We loved the grilled mushrooms and the raw beef crispy potato tartare.
Nextdoor 79
Nextdoor is (literally) where they source their protein
Nextdoor 79 - brought to you by the Olsen family, who are best known for Olsen Butchers. Gavin Olsen runs the restaurant while the kitchen is filled with an experienced team of Michelin trained and hatted chefs. Naturally, be sure to grab their dry age steak.
Big Don's Smoked Meats
Big Don's Smoked Meats makes for a very cheeky acronym
Our first, and definitely not last time, sampling Big Don's finest BBQ goods. Don runs weekly ticketed events fairly regularly, so best tune in to his Instagram for the latest on his movements. This time around, he and Lee from Le Vietnam collabed and served up delicious brisket banh mi.
