Bobaboba Belmont
Bobaboba is a Perth founded, family run business which opened its doors in 2020. Since 2020, Bobaboba has expanded to two additional locations (with many more on the way) and have even launched a trendy and cute merch line.
The folks here are passionate about serving the freshest and highest quality tea to their customers. They even make their boba in store. There's a focus on sourcing locally sourced fruit, quality tea leaves and premium toppings. The branding is also very cute! (kudos to the guys at Bento Box Design Studio).
Bobaboba Morley
Their original Morley store opened in October - November ish in 2020. It's conveniently sandwiched inbetween banh mi joint Bite my Banh Mi and hot pot joint King Hotpot. Not to mention food mecha Coventry Village is, just across the road. Their Morley store has a reasonably sized outdoors seating area with chairs and umbrellas - perfect for the warmer months.
There's also some seating inside.
Northbridge store
Bobaboba's second store opened up in September 2022. It takes over where RoyAl's and Homeslice Pizza once was. This is also the first store to feature a splash of "bobaboba taro" (a.k.a. lilac) and it features adorable illustrations from the folks at Bento Box Studio. The store is ran as a partnership between Angela - the founder of Bobaboba and Uyen, one of Bobaboba's OG staff.
There's some inside seating inside their Northbridge store. Best of all, it opens to a reasonable time (by Northbridge standards) - shaking up boba until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Bobaboba Belmont
At the end of October 2022, their third store, in Belmont opened. Like their OG (or should we call it.. OB for.. original boba π) store in Morley, the Belmont store is also conveniently located next to Belmont Oriental Store - perfect for your banh mi needs. Boba and banh mi, anyone? You'll find Jason looking after the team here. A similar, familiar fit out is also present at this store.
Bobaboba Cockburn
Following the opening of Bobaboba Belmont, their Altone Park and Kingsway stores opened. It wasn't long after when they announced their first south of the river store - in Cockburn.
The Cockburn store features plenty of free parking out front (might be handy for those who like to cruise π°π). Their first south of the river store also features a beautiful storefront, don't you think?
Drinks
Here's a bunch of drinks we've tried at Bobaboba. We're by no means experts in bubbletea reviews. For that, check out our friend @brb.bbt over on Instagram (and be sure to give her a follow!).
The Alishan oolong milk tea at 25% sugar, was a savoury, milky tea (note bobaboba have a range of different milks available).
The passionfruit green tea at 25% sugar was "just sweet" enough and had a strong green tea taste. Extra sweetness came from the lychee jelly.
If we had to choose a word to describe the lychee blossom tea, floral, would be it (as expected, we guess). At 25% sugar, it really allowed the tea flavour to sing.
We'd describe their strawberries and cream crush like a blended strawberry smoothie, layered with smooth and fluffy vanilla ice cream. A refreshing and classic flavour combo.
If you're after for something that doesn't have tea in (e.g. you want to sleep), Bobaboba's range of fruit crushes are great. We've gotten their watermelon coconut crush a number of times. It reminds us of watermelon sago and young coconut (the one you can get as a drink in many Vietnamese restaurants). A super refreshing drink for the hot weather!
Brown sugar boba was the all the rage in 2018. According to Bobaboba's menu, this is one of their top sellers. It runs on the sweet side. So get this if you'd like a spike in your blood sugar (or wait til the ice melts and slowly sip away.
Bobaboba merch
You can find a bunch of Bobaboba merch available at all of their stores. We're fans of the black bobaboba tote. The Japanese on their merch says γγΉγ€γ°γγor "seperate stomach" - a metaphorical reference to one's "dessert stomach" I suppose.
Before visiting π
Anything else I should know before visiting?
- Morley - grab banh mi from Bite my Banh Mi (next door) or grab some delicious food across at Coventry Village first, before finishing up with boba.
- Northbridge - the Northbridge Bobaboba store is open until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays!
- Belmont - Belmont Oriental Market is located next door, you can grab all your oriental goods here and even banh mi.
What's the address?
Where do I park?
Morley
Plenty of free parking is available infront and around the store.
Northbridge
Some street parking is available infront of the store. Otherwise, the closest paid carpark is CPP State Library located across the road.
Belmont
Plenty of free parking is available at the Belmont Forum carpark. We suggest parking towards Belmont Oriental Store (towards Wright Street) as traffic isn't as fusterclucky.
