The details 📝

We've been buying Clover Butcher chuck steak for some time from Seoul Mart, our local Korean grocer. In late 2021, Clover Butcher opened up their second store in Willetton. We visited in early January 2022 to buy meat for a BBQ night we were having with some friends.

Customers will find a range of Asian groceries (predominantly Korean) and a range of high quality meats. Both fresh and frozen meat is available.

We ended up spending around $120 all up, getting close to a kilogram of wagyu, some ox tongue, pork belly and seaweed.

🥩 Wagyu (various cuts and grades) $99 - $109 per kg
👅 Ox Tongue 330g $12
🥓 Pork Belly (around 5 slices) approx. $5

Our friends fired up their hibachi with binchotan. We started off with lower marbled wagyu from Costco, the ox tongue and the pork belly.

🥓 Pork Belly (around 5 slices) approx. $5

We finished up with the main attraction - Clover Butcher's marvellously marbled wagyu. We enjoyed all cuts of meat from Clover.

Add a couple sides like kimchi, rice, vegetables and you've got yourself a meal. We look forward to having more DIY BBQ - especially given one can have similar quality of meat for a fraction of what KBBQ or Japanese BBQ places charge, all in the comfort of your own home.

Before visiting 🚙

Anything else I should know before visiting?

A range of pre-sliced wagyu was available when we visited towards the end of the day. Best to call ahead of time to check to see what Clover Butcher might have available.

When cooking or eating wagyu, we find less is more - as wagyu is rich and buttery. Our sweet spot for wagyu is probably 150g - 200g per person. We like pairing wagyu with kimchi or yuzu kosho which act as a palate cleanser, cutting through the fattiness.

What's the address?

Where do I park?

Parking is available outside both the stores.
