The details π
Smaller details
The idea of Delicioso Gelato was conceived during the peak of COVID - Tiffany and her husband owned a little news agency for the majority of their adult lives and were on the verge of going out of business. Not wanting to throw away their legacy, they decided to subdivide their store and turn the other half into a gelato store⦠and thus, Delicioso was born.
Delicioso serves gelato with a twist, primarily focusing on Asian-inspired flavours such as durian, pandan, Thai milk tea, taro, black sesame, and many seasonal favourites! You'll find a cool gelato fresco machine which ensures gelato remains perpetually smooth and creamy.
Flavours
It's a bit hard to pinpoint our favourite flavour, but some flavours we've seen at Delicioso include: durian (extra surcharge), corn, kaya toast, pandan, honeydew, milo, teh tarik, red bean, creme brulee, Vietnamese iced coffee, black sesame, haw flakes, Singapore chilli crab, Pei Pa Koa, haw flakes and charcoal, to name a few.
Some of our favourites flavours include the Vietnamese iced coffee, charcoal, milo and durian.
Pandan Waffles
In addition to Asian flavoured gelato, Delicioso also serve pandan waffles. The pandan plant is widely used within Southeast Asian cuisine and is commonly used to flavour rice in dishes such as nasi lemak and chicken rice. Our favourite application of pandan would be in the form of desserts / sweets, such as in pandan chiffon cake or ice-cream.
Aunty Tiffs
In Autumn 2022, Delicioso reached a number of major milestones. They turned 1, expanded their store to allow for more dine-in space and also started selling their ice-cream commercially π.
Delicioso's gelato is sold under the brand Aunty Tiffs, aptly named after owner, Tiff. At time of writing (April 2022) it can be found at Chicken Rice Corner, The Good Grocer and Tran Emporium. Flavours currently on shelves include durian, Vietnamese iced coffee, pandan and gula malaka and roasted coconut.
Pro-tip: Delicioso's takeaway tubs still offer the best value π.
