The details 📝
Quick links
Dessert Garden is a specialty Taiwanese dessert store serving up a range of Asian desserts. The store opened in early 2020, occupying the space in Northbridge which once was Icey Ice.
On Dessert Garden's menu you'll find things like taro, shaved ice, herbal jelly, tofu pudding, purple rice and coconut sago on the menu - the majority of which are great to share with others. Through out the year, you'll also occasionally find seasonal items on the menu - reflecting the seasonal produce available.
Menu items are highly customisable and a number of desserts can be served at different temperatures (tofu pudding, purple rice and coconut sago). A number of vegan options are available. It's also notable to mention that Yvonne and her team pride themselves in sourcing only the highest quality, premium ingredients from Taiwan with the majority of the menu items being freshly made in store.
Shaved ice
With so much variety, it can be fairly intimating and almost overwhelming for first-timers. Our default order when visiting is any of their milky snowflake ice or condensed milk crushed ice. If you're a fan of bingsu (Korean shaved ice), this is a great option.
There's nearly a dozen different options from their milky snowflake ice or condensed milk crushed ice range.
Our regular order is their pearl milk tea snowflake ice, which for us is reminiscent of a Thai milk tea. You can't go wrong with any of them though. Be sure to also get a serve of their taro balls as toppings too.
Lemon aiyu jelly
A relatively new addition to Dessert Garden's menu is their lemon aiyu jelly. Aiyu jelly has its origin from Taiwan. The lemon aiyu jelly was refreshing - perfect for a hot summer's day. The taste runs similar to iced lemon tea despite not having any cuisine. The jelly is just right in terms of firmness, reminding us of jelly shots from Asian supermarkets which we had in our childhood.
Drinks
A number of freshly made drinks are also available. Dessert Garden's range includes classic tea, fresh fruit slushies, ice shaken fruit tea and milk teas. We found their ice shaken range to be a great refreshing drink, with a punchy tea flavour. Our favourites are the ice shaken grape tea and ice shaken grapefruit tea.
