Budget to Bougie: Nine Monday night eats in Perth
Nine of our favourite places to dine on a Monday night, ranging from budget to bougie.
We get it. Mondays are difficult. But do you know what's more difficult than Mondays? Finding somewhere open for dinner. After all, it is the hospo industry's equivalent to Saturdays. S0 that's why we've done the work for you and have listed our nine favourite Monday night eats in Perth.
Let us know in the comments below your favourite Monday night eats!
Jinny & Co (Myaree)
Jinny & Co is what you get when you combine fish and chips, Korean fried chicken and Korean dessert under one roof. The interior is clean and minimalist - something you probably wouldn't have expected from a humble fish and chip store. Be sure to get.. Everything we just mentioned (P.S. say hi to chef-owner Linda, she’s lovely!)
Their Korean fried chicken and bingsu easily compares with the stuff you'll find at dedicated Korean places like Cafe Guilty Pleasure and 7 Grams.

Hoodburger (Applecross, Inglewood & Northbridge)
Burgs are always a great idea if we're ever unsure of what to eat. There's lots of burger joints in Perth. For us, Hoodburger is on the regular list of rotation.
Aside from your usual cheeseburgers and smashed burgers, two of the slightly different burgers you'll find here are their Swiss Mushroom and Golden curry tender chicken sandwich. Their Swiss Mushroom combines juicy mushroom which pairs beautifully with cheese and beef.
Their Golden curry tender features Japanese Golden Curry sauce. It makes for a great snack, or even as a smaller burger. As always, grab a serve of fries. These shoestring fries are generously and tastily seasoned.
Authentic Bites (Northbridge)
We’re sure we probably don’t have to mention this one, but if you’re after dumplings, this is a great place to start. We love the spicy wontons, xiao long bao and beef brisket noodle soup here. Look out for the delivery robot!
Delicioso Gelato (Victoria Park)
Delicioso Gelato is of Perth’s handful of Asian themed gelato places. There’s lots of delicious, fun and adventurous flavours here. Singapore chilli crab or nasi lemak flavoured gelato, anyone? It's also our most frequented gelato place.
We weren't joking when we said "adventurous" flavours. We love the Milo, pandan, Vietnamese iced coffee and charcoal flavours here.
Check out our article for more on Delicioso Gelato.
Little Lebanon (Osbourne Park)
If you’re after a hearty and generously sized feed, this is your place. We love their chicken or lamb at Little Lebanon. Be sure to grab the rice instead of the chips (it soaks up all the delicious meat juices).
Tosaka Ramen (Northbridge)
2018 was probably the year of tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen. We were big fans of it, but as our tastes change, we've gravitated towards lighter broths. When we're in the mood for something heavier, we go to Tosaka Ramen. Tosaka Ramen serves up a rich chicken broth ramen known as toripaitan. Ordering here is simple - grab any of their paitan ramen (even their vegetarian one is delicious).
Food, drink and travel journo Max Veenhuyzen did a wonderful write up for the foks at Tosaka, so be sure to check it out.
Marubang (Northbridge)
We’re pretty happy to know that Marubang is open on Mondays. The restaurant spans two floors. On the ground floor, you'll find their normal a la carte menu. Upstairs, you'll find their Korean BBQ (KBBQ) section - the section we frequent more often. Every time we go, we grab their wagyu, yukke (Korean beef tartare).
If you're dining with a bigger group, be sure to also grab a serve of their banjok bossam (note some menu items from downstairs can be ordered while having KBBQ).
Check our article for more on Marubang.
Balthazar (Perth)
Balthazar is one of our favourite fancier dining places in Perth. Our faves here are their seafood spaghetti and duck breast. There menu does change semi often, but the standard of food doesn't drop. Be sure to grab a serve of their crispy, duck fat potatoes too!
NOBU Perth (Burswood)
Admittedly, this one might be a little harder to get a booking for. But, Mondays typically are a quieter night, I suppose? We can rant on for days on what to get here, but some lesser appreciated dishes to get are the new style kangaroo, wagyu carpaccio and salmon chocolate karashi sumiso.
The New Style kangaroo and wagyu carpaccio are exclusive to Nobu Perth. There's lots of "modern Japanese" or Nobu copycats in Perth, but these two dishes would be harder to come by, outside of Nobu.
