Sana is a new addition to the cappuccino strip in Fremantle. The doors to Sana, a Middle Eastern tapas and cocktail bar, opened in April 2022. General Manager, Bart, leads the team here and brings years of experience from his previous stint at Brika and years of hotel experience at Shangri-La. Service from Bart and his team was friendly.
For us, Sana fills the hole in our stomach that The Hummus Club once filled (RIP).
Being a tapas style restaurant, the majority of the dishes on the menu are designed to be shared. We started with a number of delicious dips and bread, before progressing to heavier dishes.
The Sana chicken wings had a sweet-savoury flavour.
The marinated chicken paired with the harissa and tuom balanced nicely.
The star of the show was the beef ribs which were tender.
Be sure to grab a bowl of the sha-riyeh - basmati rice. It goes with everything!
We finished up with their vegan cheesecake.
Being a cocktail bar, you'll find around a dozen in-house Sana cocktails, a range of wines, beers and even a handful of zero alcohol drinks.
You'll even find the only cocktail on tap in Freo - the mango mojito.
