We had a smaller week of eating over the past week. The planned outings for this weekend include; checking out the new Tea Garden in Vic Park, going to K-Town for a buck's dinner and making our redemption visit to Suzie's Makan Place.

Probably my fave burger place right now (for normal, non challenge burgers)!

I don't normally eat breakfast, so I'll usually opt for a drink if I find myself at a cafe. And there's hojicha on the menu I'll order it. I forgot to tell my friend to get me an iced hojicha, but this warm one was good regardless. Nice and earthy.
Great service, great vibes and great owners too.

Attadale Kitchen is Makoto-san, former owner of Dining Akashi's newest venture. His Japanese casual dining restaurant takes over what was once a brunch cafe.

As expected from Makoto-san, the food here was executed to a high standard. No complaints about any of the dishes. You'll find your typical Japanese faves here, catering to a wide (but understandable) audience and for the location.

I found the teriyaki chicken pizza to something interesting thing on the menu. It reminds me of something you'd commonly find in family style restaurants in Japan (very nostalgic for us!).

Finally back for our "redemption" chicken rice visit! The chicken was silky smooth. Our only regret was getting only half a chicken between two (half a chicken being what I usually order for myself).

Choy sum was a reasonable serve for the price. We appreciated the fried garlic and the fried pork lard on top.
Not pictured: the iced teh tarik Paige ordered. It was slightly weaker than usual—perhaps due to a different staff member preparing it—but still one of our regular favourites here.
