β€Œβ€ŒThe Best Thing We Ate ⭐️

Chopsticks Viet Restaurant

Top down shot of a palte with fried rice, stir fried beef and vegatables, a bowl of soup and a slice of lemon
🍚 Com chien bo luc lac $22 - shaking beef fried rice

We returned to Chopsticks for the second week in a row and enjoyed their shaking beef again. The fried rice reminds me of my Grandma's cooking, so extra brownie points there. Easily the best thing we ate all week 🀀.

What We Ate 🍴

Lola's Filipino Diner

πŸ” Basic burger steak $14 - two beef burger patties with mushroom gravy and chips

Lola's had some specials last week. Being a lover of all things hamburger steak, their basic burger steak was a no brainer. Initially I wanted to grab their "ultimate burger steak" which comes with fried chicken, cheeseburger springrolls in addition. But Paige also wanted sisig. The diplomatic solution to our #FirstWorldProblem was to order the sisig and spaghetti joy which ended up covering all our bases πŸ˜‹.

πŸ”₯ Sizzling pork belly sisig $23 - chopped liempo, chilli, tomato salsa, mayo, egg served on a sizzling palte with Lola's garlic rice

🍝 Spaghetti joy $21 - Filipino style spaghetti, 2pce fried chicken, Lola's gravy

Kai Japanese

Paige had cravings for Japanese curry. To curb these cravings, we popped into Kai, one of our local Japanese restaurants we rotate through.

Plate with Japanese rice, karaage on the side and a ramekin with Japanese curry in the back
πŸ› Japanese Beef Curry (with karaage chicken) & Rice $13.9

Kai hands down serves up one of our favourite Japanese curries in Perth (with Kou Sushi serving up another delicious rendition).

🍱 Kai Bento $22.9 - 5pc sashimi, 3pc karaage, seafood/veg tempura, grilled mackerel, agedashi tofu, miso soup and rice

Being a bit peckish, I opted for the Kai bento (awesome value for money).

Kai Japanese
A hole in the wall Japanese restaurant that arguably serves up one of Perth’s best priced bento and our favourite Japanese curry.

Hifumiya

Top down shot of a bowl of udon
🍜 Pork Kimchi Bukkake Udon (L) $14.8

We've rambled on about our favourite bowl of udon at Hifumiya. Despite it being served cold, we still love eating it year round (the spice probably helps)!

Kumo

πŸ₯ž Smokey charcoal soufflle pancake $23 - black sesame cheese cream, fresh strawberries, balsamic glaze & rose pashmak

We were kindly invited by the lovely folks at Word of Mouth Agency to check out Kumo. Thank you to Word of Mouth and Crystal for having us!

🍡 Teassential matcha latte $6 (how cute is the latte art! πŸ₯Ή)

Be sure to check out our post on Kumo later this week, where we cover their limited edition Moonlight Birthday pancake.
