We checked out seven places over the last week, making last week the biggest week of eating for us. It was our first time checking out Fibber McGees which dished up the eat of the week.

β€Œβ€ŒThe Best Thing We Ate ⭐️

To finish off a friend's Bucks Party, we dined at Fibber McGee's in Leedy. I've heard about this place a number of times via the Perth Foodies Facebook page, specifically for steak recommendations. Needless to say, they served up a delicious dry aged steak and a tasty pie. Their dry aged steak was the best thing we ate all week.

What We Ate 🍴

Kou Sushi

Our fourth time returning to Kou Sushi! If we had to recommend a casual Japanese restaurant, this would be it.

Japanese curry in a plate with chicken katsu and lotus chips.
πŸ› Katsu curry don $17 - chicken katsu, rice, curry, fried onion, lotus root & spring onion
Close up of karaage chicken with kewpie mayo on the side
πŸ— Chicken karaage $10 - fried chicken with teriyaki sauce, lemon & mayo
Fried eggplant with miso sauce on a plate
πŸ† Miso Eggplant $10 - fried eggplant, sweet miso & spring onion

Delicioso Gelato

πŸ¦€ Singapore chilli crab gelato

We popped into Delicioso Gelato after Kou Sushi to grab a couple scoops of gelato. The owner, Aunty Tiff, kindly let us try a scoop of her Singapore chilli crab gelato. Oh boy. It confused us for sure πŸ˜‚. Spicy, crabby and creamy. It's something we probably won't try again, but was worth trying to say we've tried it πŸ˜‚.

Gelato in a paper cup
🍦 Large gelato (3 scoops) $9.9 - Vietnamese iced coffee, pandan & creme brulee

Delicioso Gelato
Half newsagent, half dessert store, Delicioso Gelato serves up gelato with an Asian twist (think pandan, durian, kaya toast, teh tarik and more!).

Nao Ramen

Winter weather is the best type of ramen weather. I changed my order for the first time in ages. Shio (salt broth) ramen was my pick for the evening. The broth was simple, delicious and drinkable until the end.

Be sure to order a serving of their large noodles (comes on the side so you can add it in later) to accompany the beautiful broth.

For more on Nao Ramen, check out our article.

Nao Ramen
One of the OGs in the Perth ramen scene, serving up lighter broth variants of ramen and offering guests the ability to customise their bowl of ramen to their hearts desire.

Dessert Garden

β€ŒFor a light (and relatively "healthy") dessert after ramen, we opted for Dessert Garden.

Bowl with coconut milk, diced strawberry and diced jelly
πŸ“Strawberry purple rice $11.5 - coconut milk purple rice, crystal jelly, brown sugar crystal jelly & fresh strawberries

For more on Dessert Garden, check out our article.

Dessert Garden (Northbridge)
A speciality dessert store serving a number of highly customisable Taiwanese and Asian desserts (think taro, shaved ice, herbal jelly and coconut sago), a range of bubble tea and vegan options.

Nobu

We popped into Nobu to say farewell to an old colleague. It's truffle season, so we tried the wagyu tartare and enjoyed some other favourites.

Salmon on a plate with crispy leeks, chocolate and mustard sauce
🍫 Salmon belly chocolate & yuzu karashi su miso $32

One of our go-to dishes that we order every time we're at Nobu - the salmon belly chocolate and yuzu karashi su miso. There are lots of restaurants and Japanese dishes Perth that are "inspired" by Nobu, but you'll be hard pressed to find this dish outside of Nobu.

Sushi roll showing avocao and salmon with whitefish on-top
⭐ Salmon & white fish "new style" maki roll $28️

Kuzu Turkish Lounge

Plate with mixed kebab meat, chilli, hummus and rice
πŸ”₯ Mixed grill $35 - combination of lamb, adana & chicken shish & complimentary king prawns served with salad & rice

And to finish up, I popped into Kuzu Turkish Lounge with a friend for a quick lunch. We did find the pricing a little expensive, compared to places like Silk Road or Little Lebanon who also serve up similar mixed plates around the $30 mark.
