ββThe Best Thing We Ate βοΈ
Bibra Lake Lunch Bar
I've been craving banh mi for a while. Over the weekend, my banh mi fix was satisfied by Bibra Lake Lunch Bar - a humble lunch bar with a cult like following for their banh mi. We wrote about Bibra Lake Lunch Bar a while back. Check out the link to learn more.
What We Ate π΄
Jinny&Co
I went back to Jinny&Co with an old friend. Aside from their not-so-greasy fish and chips which hit the spot as usual, we tried their new range of Korean fried chicken. Thanks to chef-owner, Linda, for comping us the sweet chilli chicken and the strawberry bingsu β€οΈ.
The fried chicken easily rivals what you'll find at Korean restaurants and dedicated chicken stores!
Jinny&Co's sweet chilli chicken can ordered with four different levels of spice.
To finish off, Linda generously sent out a serve of their strawberry bingsu. I thoroughly enjoyed this as someone who doesn't really gravitate towards strawberries! Needless to say, Jinny&Co not only punch above their weight with their fried chicken, but they also kill it with their dessert offerings.
Hoodburger
Dirty burgers have been on our cravings list for some time. To satisfy said cravings, we returned to Hoodburger. Apart from their burgers, we love their generously salted fries as well (though one would argue you'd be silly to go to a burger joint and not order fries!).
Paige's fave here is the Swiss Mushroom - reminding her of the Double Mushroom Swiss at Burger King in Malaysia.
Fun-fact: Burger King is called "Hungry Jacks" in Australia because "Burger King" was already trademarked by a take-away store in Adelaide when Burger King expanded into Aus in the 70s. The first Hungry Jacks store in all of Australia is the one in Innaloo!
Being a bigger eater, I opted for their double supreme and their golden curry tender sandwich. Cravings were satisfied after both burgs!
Cherry & Grapes
Cherry & Grapes never disappoints. Admittedly $29 for a brunch dish is a bit on the expensive side, which might even evoke feelings of sticker shock to some. Such feelings of sticker shock were quickly irrelevant after seeing the generous slabs of pork belly this dish came with!
Cherry & Grapes will be unveiling Kozy - their night time degustation. Follow them on Instagram to keep updated.
Delish Pho & BMT
Finishing up a week of eating was a bowl of pho at Delish Pho & BMT. To read more, check out our article.
