ββThe Best Thing We Ate βοΈ
Omakase Haku
On Friday night, we had one of the best meals all year. It was easily one of the best Japanese meals we've ever had as well.
We booked Omakase Haku in July for mid September. As the name implies, omakase is served. The Japanese term "omakase" literally means "I leave it up to you". This means, there is no menu, no customisations. What you are served is up to the discretion of Chef Young.
As of mid September 2022, Chef Young has a waitlist of around 400 customers and is no longer accepting new wait list requests. Be sure to keep updated via his Instagram.
We had too many courses to count. We started off with sashimi - with a lot it being dry aged to perfection. The night then progressed to hot food.
Paige and I's top three are shown (we never actually liked uni, until we visited Otaru in Hokkaido and sampled some of the freshed uni ever). We'll be writing an article and post on Omakase Haku later this week. Stay tuned!
What We Ate π΄
Homerun Burgers (Mt. Hawthorn)
We were invited to the launch of Homerun Burgers' new Mt. Hawthorn branch. Thank you to Loic, Aary from acreatepr and the Homerun Burgers team for having us.
Be sure to check out our post later this week!
BOBA BOBA (Northbridge)
The friendly folks at BOBA BOBA opened up their second store over the weekend. Thank you to Angela, Aary, Bento Box Studio and the BOBABOBA Northbridge team for having us β€οΈ.
We also got a gifted a bunch of cool BOBABOBA swag!
Little Lebanon (Osbourne Park)
We're at the start of home renovations which means, lots of trips to Swedish favourite, IKEA. A strategic decision was made to eat lunch before going. Retrospectively, said strategic decision was a good one (it was a substantial amount to eat for lunch).
