A low key week of eating.

WEEKLY DIGEST | 16 NOV 22
Grilled chicken banh mi from Biba Lake Lunch Bar

We had a smaller week of eating over the past 7 days. No new visits this week! This edition is a little late as we had a little bit of technical difficulties getting this blog post together - especially around uploading images to the post. Hoping these issues iron themselves out (if anyone else is using Ghost as their publishing platform, do let us know).

We're in the middle of home renovations, which means, lots of trips to Bunnings. And around Bunnings, you'll find no shortage of lunch bars, commonly run by Vietnamese. Bibra Lake Lunch Bar is one of them. They serve up all your typical lunch bar food, but they're probably best known for their range of banh mi.

Paige loved their pork meatball banh mi, while I opted for their sweet-savoury grilled chicken banh mi.

Be sure to check out our post on Bibra Lake Lunch Bar later this week (let's hope we don't encounter any more difficulties uploading images to our posts!).

What We Ate 🍴

The Corner Dairy

We returned to The Corner Dairy for dinner. The menu has been updated since our last visit. Unfortunately we didn't vibe with the menu as much this time, but the meal was solid regardless (couldn't beat the peppercorn sauce steak from our last visit!).

Brioche toast, candied pecans, orange marmalade and cheese
HALLS SUZETTE, SOFT WASH RIND (HARVEY, WA), ORANGE MARMALADE, CANDIED PECANS, WARM BRIOCHE TOASTS GF*, N $17
Beef tartare on toast
BEEF TARTARE TOAST, COAL OIL MAYO, CURED EGG YOLK SF, DF 25

The beef tartare was interesting. It had a great tang to it - kind of reminding us of beef tataki.

DRY AGED STEAK FOR 2, BBQ STIRLING RANGES SIRLOIN (300g), SALSA VERDE, CHIPS, SALAD GF* $60

The salsa verde, interestingly enough reminded us of chao goi ga - a Vietnamese chicken salad which my parents typically serve with porridge (congee).

Tea Garden

Once again, another quick meal while we rennovate.

Hofun noodles in egg sauce with vegetables and beef
Wat tan hor fun (hofun in egg sauce) also probably $14 ish
