Dinner and dessert in Vic Park sorted!
Last week we blogged about our recent trip to Kuala Lumpur. If you haven't read it already, check it out here.
This week, we're back to blogging about Perth eateries. Before we headed off overseas, we dined at Balthazar and Ichirin - two favourites of ours. This year we'll be repurposing more newsletter content into our feed on Instagram, as running Instagram aaannd a blog does get pretty laboursome. #WorkSmarterNotHarder, right?

In case you missed it ✨
Later this week we'll be posting about Moodmood - a pasta and wine bar place we tried on Kuala Lumpur on our final night. Shout out to manager, a very passionate chef who studied hospitality from Melbourne. Be sure to follow his culinary adventures on modernising Malaysian food

What We Ate 🍴
Balthazar
Two of our favourites during our recent visit to Balthazar. Beautifully cooked and presented.
Ichirin
Be sure to grab Ichirin's salmon otoro when dining in. We like it more than toro itself 😉.
Hakata Gensuke
I (Eddy) finally got around to trying the majority of Hakata Gensuke's non-spicy broths. If you're after a lighter tonkotsu broth, shio tonkotsu might be up your alley.
Yo-Chi
Following dinner at Hakata Gensuke, we popped into Yo-Chi. Yo-Chi is a relatively new froyo joint a short walk from K-Mart in Vic Park. From memory, pricing was around $3.8 / 100g with my "creation" amounting to roughly $11 (could've shared with someone).
I visited Friday night around 9:30 pm and the line was spilling into the street. Crowd control was great though - with a staff member staggering the amount of people manning the froyo machines at any time.
DJ's Willagee
One of the foods I missed the most while overseas in Kuala Lumpur, was Vietnamese food. Specifically banh mi. So that's why, during my last visit, I inhaled two banh mi to myself 😅. The roast pork banh mi is my fave here. The traditional was passable, but not my favourite (I enjoy Bibra Lake Lunch Bar's traditional banh mi more).
