β€Œβ€ŒThe Best Thing We Ate ⭐️

Qin's Lanzhou Beef Noodle

Signature Handmade Beef Noodle Soup $15.9

We best thing we ate this week was courtesy of Qin's Lanzhou beef noodles. Check out our Instagram post for more info. There's still a fair bit of hype around this place, so expect at least a 20-25 minute wait in line (food does come out lightning fast though).

What We Ate 🍴

Francoforte

Close up of spaghetti with meatballs in a bowl
PORCO ROSSO $32 (grande) - tomato sugo, pork & veal polpetti, pancetta, ricotta, breadcrumbs

Our last visit to Francoforte was probably in 2019, when I first picked up my Sony a7iii camera. The pasta here was still delicious as ever. We dropped in before going to the Pietro Laboratorio launch.

GUANCIALE CARBONARA $33 - cured pork cheek, pecorino cheese, free-range egg

Pietro Laboratorio

Macadamia brittle and blood orange, campari & pistacio (Lab Specials)

If you've kept us with us on socials, you'll know that last week we attended Pietro Laboratorio's opening last Thursday night.

For more on Pietro Gelateria, check out our updated article.

Pietro Gelateria (East Victoria Park & Inglewood)
A Sicilian gelateria with a focus on fresh, local produce offering constantly changing flavours.

Melts Gourmet Toasties

Marilyn $15 - free-range roast chicken, brie & cranberry sauce

Melts Gourmet Toasties is run by Yasu - the owner of a Japanese removals company who was also a chef once upon a time. We found out about this place through a friend. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious, and probably save us the trip out to Toastface Grillah. On the menu as well are Harajuku style crepes - he ones you commonly see on Takeshita-doori in Harajuku.

Chocolate combo crepe $10.5 - chocolate ice cream, truffle chocolate, chocolate flake & whipped cream

Stay tuned for our thoughts!

Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart

Hand holding a cup with soft serve and two spoons sticking out
Soy soft serve

We end the week with some sweet treats from Hokkaido Baked Cheese Tart. We think they offer up some seriously underrated desserts.

Chocolate and orange cheese tart

The chocolate and orange cheese tart was a nice spin on their original baked cheese tart, while the soy soft serve comes in a fairly generous serving - which was enough for the both of us to share.
