β€Œβ€ŒThe Best Thing We Ate ⭐️

Indigo Oscar

Since June this year, Indigo Oscar's menu has been journeying through six South American countries. We last visited around two months ago, when they had their Mexican menu and it was probably one of the best meals we had all year. We knew we'd have to come back again for another one of their South American menus. So we did.

Top down shot of barramundi in coconut sauce
"Encocado de pescado", barramundi, spiced coconut sauce, plantains, clams & mussels $42

The best thing we ate this week, was Indigo Oscar's encocado de pescado - which was part of their recent Colombian menu. The sear on the barramundi and the spiced coconut sauce was the favourite part of the dish.

Close up of braised ox tail on an arepa with aji and salsa
Beer braised ox tail arepa, aji & salsa hogao $9
Close of up entire roasted cauliflower head, chickpeas and spinach
Spiced cauliflower, braised beans, spinach, chickpeas & chimichurri $30

Between now and next Sunday, they'll be touring their final country - Peru, so be sure to drop in to enjoy the last of their South American themed menu.

What We Ate 🍴

Frank's Texas Barbecue Smokehouse

Top down shot of dirty fries with queso, fries, pickles and chopped brisket
Dirty fries $11.95 - fries, queso, chopped brisket & pickles

I decided to treat myself to a hearty dinner after a week of rationing calories (currently dieting). What better way, than a dirty feed at Frank's Texas Barbecue Smokehouse? Surprisingly enough, the amount of food was manageable.

Big Frank's (sandwich) $19.95 - brisket, pulled pork, sausage & beans

The favourites for the night were the dirty fries and the Big Frank's sandwich.

Frank's Original $14.95 - 0.5 pound smoked brisket patty, American cheese & L.T.O.P

180 Popcorn

Bag of caramelised popcorn
Caramel crisp (small) $9

180 Popcorn is a popcorn stall located in Carousel serving up gourmet popcorn. Their caramel crisp popcorn was reminiscent to what Paige would normally get from Garrett Popcorn, when we're in South East Asia.

Suzie's Makan Place

Top down of curry on a silver tray with roti and briyani
Suzie's Makan Place Special 2 Plain Prata + Briyani + 2 Meat $22

Last week's visit marks the fourth or fifth time visiting Suzie's Makan Place and it has yet to disappoint!
