Third time's a charm.

WEEKLY DIGEST 087 | 17 NOV 2023
Omakase Haku

Last week was a smaller week of eating. We're off to Japan in January next year, so we're trying to save as much coin as we can. In doing so, we'll be *trying* to dine at cheaper places. I write this in irony - given we splashed two green notes on dinner last Friday at Omakase Haku ๐Ÿ™ˆ. Frankly, the meal was very much worth it!

This week we have:

Omakase Haku
Two Hands Noodle Shop
3230 Smoke + Grill

Omakase Haku

Last week we made our third visit to Omakase Haku which has been our favourite visit so far.

Unequivocally, the best thing we ate last week was Chef Youngโ€™s A5 wagyu katsu sando. A delicious harmony of the fatty A5 wagyu from Kagoshima (our sister city), ever so slightly sweet shokupan, flavourful tare and a generous shaving of foie gras. It was one of the most delicious morsels we've had for some time.

For more on Omakase Haku, check out our article. I managed to snap around 200 photos (that's around 10 GB ๐Ÿ˜…) which will eventually make their way to the updated Omakase Haku article.

What We Ate ๐Ÿด

Two Handles Noodle Shop

Top down shot of noodles, mince beef, Chinese vegetables and a fried egg

Paige has been craving noodles and I didn't really want ramen or pho. So no better place to go than Two Hands Noodle Shop!

Hands holding a bamboo steamer basket with a large bao inside
Two Hands big bao (char siew) $5.5

When available, I always like to crab one of their Two Hands big bao too.

Top down shot of noodles, mince beef, Chinese vegetables and a fried egg
Pan mian dry + fried egg (L) $14.9

3230 Smoke + Grill

Finishing up the week, we had burgs from 3230 Smoke + Grill. The chips were nice and crispy!
